Margaret here. It's day one in the world of technology and social links. I just set up Facebook two days ago, then read about blogspot and thought I'd try this too. Why, you might ask? Because this whole way of communicating is just amazing to me. The Internet has opened up the world and made it feel a bit smaller, and that is wonderful! Now, I want to learn what the potential really is from both a social and a business standpoint. That's me - always needing to have a goal for anything I do. Too many years at university, I guess! Everything for me has to be researched and measured! I am truly a geek at heart whether folks believe it or not.
So, what will we do with this modern miracle? We're in the midst of setting up a fun website for businesswomen, and maybe we can try out some ideas for the site. I think we'd first like to test drive an advice column. Face it. We're what you'd call "experienced" businesswomen. Surely we've learned something we can pass on to the young'uns.
My first lessons would be these:

My first lessons would be these:
- Don't take things too seriously. Today's difficulties will most likely be supplanted by much bigger worries tomorrow, so relax!
- If all else fails, go have a drink at lunch with a girlfriend. You'll feel like you're being a bad girl, and that's always fun! (Don't forget the breathmints!)
Okay, so I realize the chances are very good that this message will go out into cyberspace, or will only be read by Kim and me. But who knows? Maybe someday 100 years from now someone will find our blogs and be inspired, and put us on par with Confucius, or, at least, Dear Abby!
I'm off to study now. Hoping for great adventures in the world of social linking. Feel free to comment, or ask any advice questions you like. I can't promise the answers will keep you out of trouble, but you know what they say:
A good friend will bail you out of jail. But a best friend will be right there with you saying, "Damn, that was fun!"

Hey Margaret!
Lorrie here... from BRMC Home Health-Marion Co. and my own business, Spring Creek Cabin. Barb sent me the links to both your webpage and your blogger page. Love 'em! I'm going to send it on to my best friend, Paige. She also has her own business, 2 SmartChix. This is our kinda stuff! Women in business for themselves! Plus, you have a cutie pup and a great Mom! If I get time, I will submit a few lessons for business women that are likeminded. Take Care!
